Shop Module: Adding Products to the Shop

Adding Products to the Shop

Use the Content > Shop > Catalog page to add products to the shop. Click the Product Catalog link in the left sidebar to access the Catalog page.

Adding a New Product

For each product that you want to add to the shop:

  • Click the blue Add New Product button to create a product listing.

  • Fill in the product information. Name, description, and price are required. You can leave the Product URL field blank to generate it automatically.

  • Attach a product image. The image is optional.

  • Assign a product class from the drop down list, if you have created product classes. See Managing the Shop for more information on managing product classes.

  • Add or modify any product details in the bottom pane. For example, you may want to describe the weight and dimensions or add additional media (like more photos or a video.) The Categories tab lets you choose which category you want the product to belong to. For example, you may have a product class for Children and a category for shoes. See Managing the Shop for more information on managing categories.

  • Click Create Product.

Importing Products

Rather than entering each product listing separately, you can also import the product listings as a CSV file. Use the blue Import button to go to the Import Products page.

To import a file:

  • Click the Import File Format link to download a sample file format in which to enter your product listings.

  • Use the Select File link to choose the file that you want to import. This opens the popup file manager. If you have not already uploaded the file, use the file manager Upload button to upload it.

  • Click on the file and click Select in the right pane.

  • Use the Select Folder link to choose the folder where you want to place the imported list.

  • Click on the folder and click Select in the right pane.

Note: You must specify a file and a folder. The file and folder cannot be blank.
